'G.B.' Freeman

DANIELSVILLE - George B. (G.B.) Freeman, Jr., 85, died Sunday, October 4, 2009.

Born December 27, 1923, in Madison County, he was the son of the late George B. and Annie Ginn Freeman. Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by brothers, Lee, Frank, Clinton and S.B. Freeman; and sisters, Nellie Hitchcock, Grace Gordon and Dorothy Escoe. He was a member of Bluestone Baptist Church in Danielsville, and was a former member of Friendship Baptist Church for many years where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He was retired from farming and as custodian of the U.S. Post Office.

Survivors include sisters, Gladys Rowland, Anderson, S.C. and Callie McLeskey, Hartwell; several nieces and nephews; and two special nieces who helped care for him, Mary Smith, Comer, and Barbara Pulliam, Royston.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, October 6, at 2 p.m. at Danielsville Memorial Gardens with the Revs. Ray Jenkins and Dayton Logan officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, October 6, for one hour prior to the service, from 1 until 2 p.m.
