LULA – Lucille Estelle Wade, 77, died Saturday, October 3, 2009, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born in Banks County on June 23, 1932, she was the daughter of the late T.J. and Myrtle Poole Wade. She was retired from Carwood as a machine operator and was a member of Yonah Congregational Holiness Church. Mrs. Wade was preceded in death by a brother, Otha L. Wade; and nephew Harold Wade.
Survivors include sisters and brothers-in-law, Julia and Ernest Powell and Gertrude and Garnett Grier, all of Lula, Joyce and Eugene Franklin, Alto; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Couch, Alto; nieces and nephews, Christine Wilkes, Linda Warwick, Latise Marcus, Ronnie Franklin and Kim Grier-Jones; and several great-nieces and nephews and several great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 5, in the chapel at McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Revs. John Umberhant and Grady White officiating. Burial was in the Yonah Congregational Holiness Church cemetery with the Rev. Ray Turpin officiating.
McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, was in charge of arrangements.
