DAHLONEGA – Genell Fitzgerald Kesler, 76, formerly of Nicholson, died Saturday, October 3, 2009, at Gold City Convalescent Center.
Born in Stephens County, she was the daughter of the late Harrison Grover and Mary Fowler Fitzgerald. She was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church and was a retired seamstress. Mrs. Kesler was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Phillip Kesler.
Survivors include daughters, Louise Martin, Dahlonega, Marie Kesler, Nicholson, and Mary Nell Ivie, Conyers; sons, Martin Kesler, Nicholson, Lonnie Gaines, Conversville, Tenn., Gene Gaines, Hull, Tommy Gaines, Caryville, Tenn.; brothers, Leo Fitzgerald, Anderson, S.C., Chaffin Fitzgerald, St. Louis, Mo.; two lifelong friends, Francis Fortson and Miriam Perry; 19 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 6, at 11 a.m., at the Antioch United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sanford Willard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, October 5, at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.
