Jerry Carlan

Jerry Carlan, 57, of Homer, died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at his residence, following an extended illness.

He was the son of the last Asbury and Nina Carlan and was a member of the Bethany Christian Church. He was retired from the Department of Transportation after 34 years of service and was a member of Phi Delta Lodge #148 of Homer. Mr. Carlan was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy Carlan and Fred Carlan; and a sister, Helen McKinney.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis June Carlan, Homer; sisters, Linda Hanley, Ila, and Mary Ann Galloway, Homer; brother, Horace Carlan, Commerce; several nieces and nephews; special little great-niece, Lexi Ausburn; and many other family and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 8, at the Bethany Christian Church with the Revs. Mark Hassler and Swayne Carlan officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
