Kimberly Beck Turk, 53, went to be with her Lord on the morning of Jan. 20, 2019 in her home in Maysville.
Kim was born December 26, 1965, in Commerce, and was a resident of Banks County most of her life. She worked as a computer programmer for Boehringer Ingelheim for over 20 years. She was a member of Homer United Methodist Church, where she served as director of youth education, a member of Homer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, board member of Banks County Family Connections, and a member of board of directors of First Reliance Credit Union.
She was survived by her husband, Charles Turk; two daughters, Charlie Turk Chapman (Dustin) and Faith Turk Carter (Dalton); grandson, Adam Turk Carter; parents, Bobby and Wanda Beck of Maysville, Claudette Rhodes of Maysville, mother and father-in-law George and Betty Turk of Commerce; brother, Ray Beck of Commerce, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, John and LaMurl Turk Morris of Athens.
Funeral services: Thursday, January 24, at 2 p.m. at Homer United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jim McLendon and David Collins officiating. Interment to follow in Jackson Memorial Gardens.
Visitation: The family to receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
Flowers are optional or contributions may be made to Homer United Methodist Church.

Charles Scott Brown, Jr., 83, of Jefferson, who entered into rest Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019. Mr. Brown was born in Atlanta, a son of the late Charles Scott Brown, Sr. and the late Eva Lee Almond Brown, was retired from the U.S. Navy and the Dekalb County Board of Education where he worked as a Property Auditor. Mr. Brown was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, American Legion Post 56 and the Fleet Reserve. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown is preceded in death by three sons, Richard, Wendell and Douglas Brown and two sisters, Mildred Thompson and Becky Steward.

Bobby Orr, 62, of Hoschton, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019.
Mr. Orr was born in Gainesville, Georgia, a son to Mrs. Mauldine Orr of Lula, and the late W.C. Orr. Mr. Orr was a heavy equipment operator with Jim Young Construction and was of the Baptist faith.

Hershel Howington, 67, of Hartwell, formerly of Jefferson, entered into rest Friday, Jan. 11, 2019.
Mr. Howington was born in Jefferson, a son of the late Clifford and Eunice Venable Howington and was a retired Telecom Technician. Mr. Howington was an active sportsman his entire life, a lifestyle that he taught to his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Howington is preceded in death by a brother, Hank Howington, and his wife, Barbara Fulcher Howington.
Survivors include a daughter, Allison Romines and her husband Ryan of Gillsville; two sons, Shane Howington and his wife Rachel of Carnesville and Cliff Howington of Hartwell; stepdaughter, Brook Rooks and her husband Scott of Jefferson; special friend, Nita Nix of Commerce; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
