COMMERCE – Isabel “Belle” W. Scoggins, 80, died Thursday, October 1, 2009.
Born in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late George M. and Nola Mae Maney Wood. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and was a retired nurse.
Survivors include her husband, Homer R. Scoggins, Commerce; sons and daughters-in-law, Amory and Tricia Scoggins and Aubry and Sheila Scoggins, all of Commerce; grandchildren, Sean, Seth, Nick, and Chad Scoggins; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 4, at 2 p.m., at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Revs. Derry Oliver, Brad Wilson and Verlin Reese officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, October 3, from 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church Bus Fund or Missions Fund, P.O. Box 37, Commerce, GA 30529.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.

It is hard to find the words through the tears to describe the emotions I feel at the loss of one of the most special people to have ever been in my life. Aunt Belle is and will always be an inspiration of how to love, encourage, and make everyone feel special and welcome. I am so sorry that I couldn't make it down from New York but my heart is there with you.
I have so many wonderful memories of life at Booger Hollow when the family would gather for reunions or when I would come as a kid with my grandparents to visit and we would all sit at the long table and enjoy just being family.
What a celebration that must be occurring in heaven as Belle is reunited with her parents, siblings, and other family and friends. It makes me look forward to the day that I can go to that great reunion where I am sure Belle will be among the first to hug me again and say, "Oh honey, it is so good to see you!".
