DANIELSVILLE – Jean Teague Dixon, 78, died Wednesday, October 26, 2011, in Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.
Born in Rabun County on September 27, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Roy Teague and Hattie James Teague Watkins. She was a nurse (LPN) and was a member of the Battle Branch Baptist Church. Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by her husband, Leamon (Red) Dixon; a sister, Susie Coffee; and three brothers, Jack Teague, Dewey Teague and Bud Teague.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Rebecca and Danny Farmer, Danielsville; brother, Ray Teague, Highlands, Mich.; sister, Jane Martindale, Arkansas; grandchildren, Charity Farmer Allen, Todd Farmer and Dusty Farmer; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 29, from the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Cannon officiating. Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery in the Warwoman Community.

She was the daughter of the late Billups and Hattie Lou Smith. A native of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., she lived in this area for many years. Mrs. West retired from General Time/Westclox after 33 years and was of the Baptist denomination. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Jessie E. West; mother, Eula Shockley Wright; son, Charles H. West; grandson, Brad Collier; sister, Mattie Smouse; brother, Cagar Shockley. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, Memaw and friend.

He is the son of the late James Gordon and Elizabeth Williamson Tyner of Crawford. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, was a member of Colbert Baptist Church, and was employed with Barrett Dodge.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Louise Rogers Tyner; sons and daughters-in-law, Samuel Mack Jr. and Gale Tyner, Crawford, and Richard Jackson and Revonda Tyner, Royston; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren

Nettie Jenkins (10-19-11)
ROYSTON – Nettie Rachel Jordan Jenkins, 94, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at the Gables in Royston.
She was born on September 23, 1917, the daughter of the late Gordon and Mattie Siegler Jordan. Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by her husband, James V. Jenkins Jr. In 1936 she was awarded a crafts teaching certificate from Tallulah Falls High School and went on to teach crafts at her alma mater. During the summers in the late 1930’s, she kept a gift shop on Lake Rabun and did extensive weaving on a hand and foot powered loom. During the restoration of Williamsburg, many of her hand woven items were sold in gift shops there.
In 1942 Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins were married and made their home in the Sanford/Neese Community of Madison County near Hull for more than 60 years with greater than 50 of those years being spent on their farm where they were the proud parents of two children, Harriet and Jim, while she continued weaving lovely articles as well as keeping a local country store. She also worked for Davison’s Department Store and Austin’s Furniture Store.
During her retirement years, Mrs. Jenkins resumed her hobby of crafting and including quilting and needlepoint. In 2003 she chose The Gables in Royston to be their home for their remaining years. Mr. Jenkins preceded her in death on February 5, 2008.
Survivors include her daughter, Harriet Gray and her partner, John Norton, Royston; son, James V. Jenkins III and his wife, Linda, Long Island City, N.Y.; brother, Alton Jordan, Royston; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Crawford and Jane Jenkins, Stone Mountain; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, October 21, at Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston. She was born in Pelham, N.H., the daughter of the late Herman and Vera Carter. She was a member of Cabin Creek Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Hauntsman was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Hauntsman, Sr.; and a sister, Marjorie Baney.
