HOSCHTON – Evelyn Marie Tullis Roberts Pearson, 69, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011.
Born in Barrow County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Loyd and Ethel Boss Tullis. Mrs. Pearson was retired from Dollar General, where she was a store manager and was a member of the New Liberty United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her companion, Wayne Collins, Hoschton; daughters, Elaine Roberts Gunter, Braselton and Pam Roberts Miller, Lula; son, David Craig Roberts, Creedmoor, N.C.; brother W.C. Tullis, Goyton; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 19, from the New Liberty United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Greenwald officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state in the church at 10:30 a.m., Saturday before the service. Honored as pallbearers are Brenton Roberts, Corey Miller, Jeremy Miller, Justin Gunter, Christian Padley and Jacob Ramey.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 18, at the funeral home.

NICHOLSON – Dwight Pierce Nelms Sr., 69, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Jessie and Gladys Moon Wilson. Mr. Nelms was a security guard.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Ann Farmer Nelms, Nicholson; daughters, Rhonda Booth and Pam Hendrix, both of Nicholson and Michelle Roberts, Monroe; sons, Pierce Nelms Jr., Jefferson, and Tony Nelms, Hull; sisters, Betty Hanley, Hull, Sara Raulerson, Augusta and Linda Wilson, Gainesville; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 18, from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Stowers officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 17, at the funeral home.

Roger Howell, 79, died Sunday, January 30, 2011, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.
Born in Banks County on April 25, 1931, he was the son of the late Clem and Nettie Davis Howell of Franklin County. He was a resident of Jackson County. A brother, Roy Howell of Franklin County, preceded Mr. Howell in death.
Survivors include four daughters, Elaine Zent, Decatur, Ala., Barbara Cleary, Pendergrass, Martha Taylor, Commerce, and Kathy Howell, Carlton; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Sunday, February 6, at his home in Pendergrass with the Rev. Dennis Daniels of Dawsonville officiating.
The family wishes to send many thanks and appreciation to all those involved.
