Born in Franklin County, he was the son of Betty Smith of Winder and the late Charlie Smith. He was employed by Arbor Terrace.
Survivors in addition to his mother include a son, Joshua Smith, Winder; brothers, Roger Smith and Joel Smith, both of Winder.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 29, from Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Robbie Black officiating. Burial was in Barrow Memorial Gardens.

WINDER – Alice Emily Bowlan Sanders, 86, died Sunday, November 28, 2010.
Born in Anderson, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Guy and Mary Hood Bowlan. She was an active member and served in many ministries of the First Baptist Church in Winder. Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Sanders Sr.

Born in Grayson, he was the son of the late John and Effie Rutledge Patrick. Mr. Patrick was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hill Patrick. He was a longtime employee of C. A. Rutledge Construction Company and a retiree of Johns Manville Corporation. Mr. Patrick was a member of The Winder First Baptist Church and was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving with the 11th Armored Division in the European Theatre of operations.
Survivors include his children, Spencer Patrick, Roger Patrick and Barry Patrick, all of Winder, and Pam Tullis, McDonough; sister, Shirley Patrick, Conyers; brothers, Hugh Patrick and Ben Patrick, both of Winder; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
