DANIELSVILLE – Thomas Dudley, 80, died Monday, July 26, 2010, at the Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.
Born in Madison County on September 30, 1930, he was the son of the late Wiley Boyd and Allie Carey Dudley. He was a retired supervisor at Colonial Poultry and a retired warehouse manager at W & H Poultry. He was currently a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Stephens Dudley, Danielsville; sons, Mike Dudley, Danielsville, and Greg Dudley, Ila; daughters, Deborah Dudley Scott, Hartwell, Denise Dudley Dove, Canon, and Patrice Dudley Scott, Royston; sisters, Carolyn Pearson and Cathy Dudley, both of Danielsville; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Born in Franklin County on March 16, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ruby Peeples Peeples. She was a seamstress, homemaker and retired from Reliance Electric and was a member of the New Hope Worship Center. Mrs. Fortson was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Peeples; and sister, Jeanette Adams.

Born in Royston, he was the son of the late Olis David and Reatha Brooks Embry. He retired from Harris Trucking after 10 years and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Embry; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Angie Embry, Colbert; grandchildren, Kendra and Karissa Embry; special nieces and nephews, Michelle Thomas, Cathy Elrod, Bruce and David Moon; as well as a number of other relatives.

John Perpall
MONROE - Dr. John J. Perpall, Jr., 92, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and faithful friend, passed away peacefully at home with his family on July 15, 2010.
He was born in Miami, Fla. on October 20, 1917, to the late Mr. and Mrs. John J. Perpall, Sr. He was preceded in death by Barbara T. Perpall, his devoted wife of 59 years.
Survivors include his children, Dr. Michael E. and Beth Perpall, Norcross, Richard W. and Carol Perpall, Danielsville, John J. III and Belinda Perpall, Monroe; grandchildren David and Mary Beth Perpall, Mark and Lisa Perpall, Lauren and Mike Riepenhoff, Suzanne and Phillip Griffeth, Ryan and Sara Perpall, Leona and Isaac Webster, John J. IV and Jacquie Perpall; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Dr. Perpall was educated at the University of Florida and Atlanta Southern Dental College. Upon graduation in 1942, he served in World War II as a dentist in the United States Army Air Corp at several bases in the states and in the Philippines. After the war, he returned to Atlanta and practiced dentistry for almost 40 years. After retiring from private practice, Dr. Perpall was employed at DeKalb College, where he served as the Supervising Dentist for the School of Dental Hygiene for over 10 years. He was lifetime member of the American Dental Association, active in the Georgia Dental Association and the Fifth District Dental Society, and was a past Grand Master of the Theta Theta Chapter of Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity. Dr. Perpall was always interested in helping others and did so by serving in various organizations such as the Boy Scouts of America where he was awarded the Silver Beaver, the Annawakee Foundation where he donated his time as a dentist for the boys and also served on the Board of Directors. He was a deacon, an elder, and held other leadership positions in his church for many years.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 17, at Wages Snellville Chapel with the Rev. Russell Davis officiating. The grandsons and nephews served as pallbearers. Burial with military honors was held at Gwinnett Memorial Park in Lawrenceville.
