BUFORD – Donald K. Ter Beek Sr., 76, died peacefully Saturday, February 27, 2010, at the residence of his daughter, Brenda Thomas in Maysville, where he resided during his extended battle with cancer.
Born on September 29, 1933, in Muskegon, Mich., he was the son of the late Harold and Dorothy Ter Beek. He was a longtime resident of Buford, a Navy veteran and retired from Foote and Davies Printing Company.
Survivors include daughters, Brenda Thomas, Maysville, and Carla Rolader-Bradbury, Lawrenceville; sons, Greg Ter Beek, Lafayette, and Don Ter Beek Jr., Maysville; three sisters, Lois, Beverly and Margaret and one brother, Jack, Muskegon, Mich.; uncle, Bud Vanderloin; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and loving friends.
The family would like to thank Compassionate Care Hospice for the tender and respectful care given to Don and his children during the last weeks. Mr. Ter Beek has been cremated.

Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by brothers, Carson, Gary and Bob Davis; sisters, Agnes Martin and Ellen Jarvis; and a special friend, Simone Waeger.

Mildred Trawick Rice, 94, died Sunday, February 28, 2010, at her residence following a brief illness.
She was the daughter of the late Mera Gober and Paul B. Trawick and was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, George Erskine Rice. She was a member of the Commerce First United Methodist Church and of its Ruth-Naomi Sunday School class. She was also founding member of the Cold Sassy Players, was active in the Pine Tree Garden Club, the Study Club and the Book Vine, all of Commerce.
A journalism graduate of the University of Georgia, she enjoyed an early career in the field of advertising in Atlanta. After years as a dedicated parent and homemaker, she returned to school, earned a master’s degree in education, and with two colleagues, pioneered in team teaching for the Carle Place School District on Long Island.
Survivors include children, Susan Rice Harper, Commerce, David Erskine Rice, Raleigh, N.C., and Emily Rice Reynolds and husband Stephen F. Reynolds, Barrington, Ill.; grandchildren, Chad H. Harper, Albany, N.Y., Daniel Erskine Harper, Glendale, Calif., and Caroline Reynolds, Barrington, Ill.; and nephew and ward Howard Templeton, Corvallis, Ore.

PENDERGRASS – Ronald Herman “Ronnie” Cook, 56, died Sunday, February 28, 2010.
Born on March 25, 1953, in Hall County, he was the son of the late Ted and Virginia Payne Cook. He was employed by Morris-McClure Distribution, was a member of the Mountain Creek Baptist Church and was an avid, #1, most optimistic Bulldog fan.

FLOWERY BRANCH – Annie Bell Phillips McDougald, 87, died Friday, February 26, 2010, at her residence following a sudden illness.
Born on September 28, 1922, in Forsyth County, she was the daughter of the late Early C. and Genia Mangum Phillips. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived most of her life in Hall County, and was retired from Mooney Manufacturing Company, a furniture company that was located in Flowery Branch, where she worked for a number of years. She was a faithful, dedicated, longtime member of Mulberry Baptist Church in Hoschton, who loved and lived for the Lord daily. Mrs. McDougald was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. John O. McDougald; sisters, Virginia Cruse, Eva Millwood, Inez Millwood and Jewel Bryan; and brothers, Clyde (Hut) Phillips, JT Phillips, Radford Phillips and the Rev. Hoyt Phillips.

Born in Caldwell County he was the son of the late W.B. and Wilma Moore Greene. Mr. Greene was preceded in death by a brother, Forrest Greene. He was a division manager for Blue Bell Inc., where he retired after 35 years of service, and was also a member of Lower Creek Baptist Church.
