He was born in Walton County on September 1, 1919, to the late John Henry and Addie Allen Whitley.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Smith Whitley, Monroe; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Lucy Whitley, Winder, Jim and Brenda Whitley, Bogart, and Charles and Marluce Whitley, Monroe; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 10, from the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Moon officiating. Burial was in Westlawn Cemetery.

WINDER – Danny Humphrey, 62, died Wednesday, January 6, 2010.
Born on September 15, 1947, in Cumming, he was previously from Sugar Hill and was the son of the late Buster and Emma Humphrey. He was a 1965 graduate of North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee and was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves. He was a building contractor and worked with his father, B.H. Humphrey Company for many years. He was the owner of D.D.R. Construction Company in Winder and was of the Baptist denomination. Mr. Humphrey was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Humphrey.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Kathy Humphrey, Winder; son and daughter-in-law, Donny and Martine Humphrey, Winder; grandchildren, Kate Humphrey and Bryant Humphrey, both of Winder; brother, Donald Humphrey, Carnesville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jackie Humphrey, Debra Caton and Patti and Jamie Velez, all of Buford, David and Linda Parker, Lawrenceville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy and Katherine Parker, Buford, aunt and uncles, Sally and Winton Johnson, and Grady Stancil, all of Buford; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
