Born in Walton County, she was the daughter of the late Chester L. and Jewell C. Peppers Davis. She was a member of the Hickory Grove Baptist Church and the Hope Class. She was also a member of the Lioness Club. Mrs. Moon retired from the Barrow County School System where she had worked as a cashier in the lunchroom at Winder-Barrow High School. She was a 1968 graduate of Monroe High School.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin G. Moon; son Melvin J. Moon; grandchildren, Kyra McKinney and Kayle Moon, all of Bethlehem; brothers, Lenard Davis, Bobby Davis and Scott Davis, all of Bethlehem, and Lester Davis, Monroe; sisters, Irene Chriswell and Lynn Davis, both of Loganville; Janice Pierce, Winder, Kathy Criswell, Bethlehem, and Vena Sorrells, Monroe.

WINDER – Ethel Mae Green, 76, died Saturday, December 26, 2009.
Born in Fulton County she was the daughter of the late Garnet and Zeldia Baker Metcalf. Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her husband, William Carter Green Sr.; and sons, William C. Green Jr., Grady L. Green and Larry Daniel Green. She was a loving mother and grandmother and she loved bingo and traveling, loved ones stated.

Born in Detroit, Mich., he was the son of the late John and Mary Miller. He was a member of the Winder First United Methodist Church, had worked at Thrall Car and Winder Barrow Realty, and was co-owner with his wife of Ann’s Flower Shop. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Mount Miller, Winder; daughters, Paige Miller and Amy Mincey, Winder, and Mary Hathaway, Michigan; son, Tim Ramas, Michigan; six grandchildren; brother, John Miller, Michigan; and a sister, Grace Kendall, Michigan.

WINDER - Leontine T. Upton, 87, died Thursday, December 10, 2009.
Born in Pelham, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Rachel Clark Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Red” Upton in 1990. A resident of Winder for the past three years, she was a former Macon resident, where she attended The Church of The Wildwood and served as chairman of the board of deacons, and was the church office clerk for many years. She was active as an encourager at Cedar Creek Baptist Church where she was a member. Mrs. Upton was a retired Employment Interviewer with The Georgia Department of Labor.
Survivors include children, Joseph Thomas “Tom” Upton, Sr., Stone Mountain, and Rebecca Branson, Dacula; grandchildren, Chris Eure, Leontine “Lynn” McGuigan, Diana Eure Houston and Joseph “Joey” Thomas Upton, Jr.; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Hebron Christian Church, was retired from Thrall Car after working many years for Rohr Aircraft, and was a veteran having served in the United States Army in Korea. He was an avid gardener, loved ones stated. Mr. Magness was preceded in death by a brother, Byron Magness.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Sims Magness, Winder; a daughter, Wanda Magness, Winder; and sisters and brother-in-law, Jackie Hinesley, Sybil and Bill Kemp, all Winder.
