AUBURN - Clary Franklin Garland, 75, died Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Texas.

Born June 27, 1934, in Thomaston, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Sallie Belle Garland. He served his country in the United States Navy for many years. Mr. Garland was formerly employed in the dental industry where he worked in sales.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ann Garland, Auburn; son and daughter-in-law, Clary Franklin Garland, Jr. and Pam Garland, Winder; brother, Marion Garland; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Charles Hardage; grandchild, Clary Franklin Garland, III; mother-in-law, Margie Nell McDonald; sister-in-law, Donna Ritch; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 1, from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bob Wilson officiating. Burial was in Southview Cemetery, in Thomaston.

Coggins Funeral Home, Thomaston, was in charge of arrangements.

MAYSVILLE – Robert Joseph “Bobby” Kennedy, 33, died Friday, July 31, 2009.

He was the son of James Alvin and Jennie Kennedy of Maysville. Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by a sister, Kelly Ann Kennedy; and a grandfather, James Milford.

Survivors in addition to his parents include grandmothers, Margine Williams and Edna Milford, both of Martin; and a niece, Hallie Vicknair, Lucher, La.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 4, at 11 a.m., at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, August 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
