Born in Banks County on March 14, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Gertrude Caudell Whitfield. She was a homemaker and was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church, where she had taught children’s Sunday School for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Lynn Moore, Mt. Airy; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Hollis, Angela and Roger Blair, all of Mt. Airy, Mary and Chris McNairy, Athens, Ala.; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Helen Moore, Clarkesville; sisters, Carolyn Purcell, Mt. Airy, Wansa Purcell, Genell Williams and Linda Poole, all of Homer; brothers, James Whitfield, Mt. Airy, Gary Whitfield, Homer, Lamar Whitfield, Clarkesville; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 4, at 2 p.m., from the Hazel Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Trent Smith and Billy Burrell officiating. Mr. Royston was preceded in death by his wife, Delcie Freeman Royston; and a brother, John Milford Royston.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Pam Royston, Royston; grandchildren, Rusty Royston and Bridgett Moorhead; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Nealie Manley and Florine Thomas, both of Royston.
