Born in Barrow County, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Dorsey, Sr. and Ruby Lee Wilson. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Brown; and sisters, Martha Harbin and Nancy Hardy. A member of Barrow Worship Center, she was retired from Mitsubishi.

Army Air Corp veteran, having served in the South Pacific Theatre of World War II. A member of Bethabra Baptist Church, he had resided in Barrow County since 1977, and was a former resident of Atlanta.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Spooner Phillips; sons, Winfred G. (Jerry) Phillips, Jr., and David M. Phillips, all of Hoschton; daughter, Lola Phillips Frost, Warner Robins; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Wilda Haley, Hollywood, Fla.

WINDER - Carolyn McCurry Kirk Good, 92, died Friday, March 20, 2009.
Born in Clayton, she was the daughter of the late Icie Cannon and Arthur James McCurry. She was preceded in death by husbands Goode Kirk and Grady Edward Good; and daughter Celia Ann Kirk. Mrs. Good was a member of Winder First United Methodist Church and served as a member of the Myra Clark Women’s Missionary Circle. She had a distinguished nursing career that began as a trainee at the Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta. Mrs. Good was an avid antique collector.

She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Winder and was active in parish bible studies, an RCIA sponsor, an adult education catechist, a member of the Regnum Christi Movement and a media center volunteer at Pinecrest Academy in Cumming. She enjoyed catering for many years, and created numerous wedding cakes for newlyweds, enjoyed spending her time loving and nurturing her children and grandchildren, sharing the love of Christ with others and always enjoyed a mean game of Canasta. Mrs. Proctor was preceded in death by sons, Ronald Edward Proctor and Daniel Proctor; and a brother, Michael Salois.
