CORNELIA – Alice Sue Dodd Standridge, 82, died Monday, March 30, 2009, at a private care facility.
Born on April 10, 1926, in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Clothie Lynch Dodd and was the last of her immediate family. She was formerly employed with New Holland Mill with several years of service and retired from Mt. Vernon Mills with 10 years of service. She was a member of Alto Baptist Church. Mrs. Standridge was preceded in death by a brother, Monroe Dodd; sisters, Lois Crocker, Gladys Croker, Bernice Owensby, Evelyn Murray, Betty Elrod and Vellie Thomas.
Survivors include a daughter, Janie Sue Sellers Walker, Cornelia; grandchildren, Jason Gabriel Sellers and Amber Kirby Green; and four great-grandchildren.

Born in Jersey City, N.J., on December 7, 1916, she was the wife of the late John William “Jack” Allen and was of the Methodist denomination. She was retired from Old Bridge Township school system as a custodian with 25 years of dedicated service. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents; sons, John C. Allen and Harold Allen; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include sons, Kenneth Allen, Manchester County, N.J., Raymond Allen, Mt. Airy, and Martin Allen, N. He was a member of the Catholic faith and was a United States veteran, having served in the Airborne Rangers in the Persian Gulf. Mr. Hain was preceded in death by a sister, Dana Fleming.
