Joseph Parham, 68, of Colbert, died Friday, November 26, 2008, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born in Madison County, he was the son of the late Ishum and Nella Bond Parham. He was a retired school bus driver and was Baptist. Mr. Parham was preceded in death by a daughter, Jill Bogue.
Survivors include his wife, Willie D. Parham; children, Gary Parham, Dwayne Parham, Quinn Parham, all of Colbert; sisters, Darlene Thomas, Comer, Nelda Farr, Atlanta; and three grandchildren.

Jerry F. Alexander, 61, of Winder, died Monday, November 29, 2008.
He was the son of Mary Alexander of Athens and the late Robert E. Alexander. He was a member of Chapel Christian Church, and was a self-employed automobile appraiser. Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Willoughby Alexander.

Guytrell “Guy” H. Martin Jr., 54, of Commerce, died Sunday, November 30, 2008, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Reba Mangum Brown, 99, of the Hollingsworth Community, Alto, died Thursday, November 27, 2008, at the Oaks @ Scenic View Nursing Center, following an extended illness.
Born in Franklin County on January 14, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Hattie Hooper Mangum. She was a homemaker, a member of the AARP Senior Citizens, and was a faithful member of the Line Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Paul David Brown Sr.; son, Paul David Brown Jr.; infant daughter, Cleo Brown; and son-in-law, Brannon Caudell.

She was a retired underwriter with Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company with 20 plus years of dedicated service and was a longtime member of Buford Highway Baptist Church in Doraville. She enjoyed making ceramics, traveling and photography. Ms. Walker was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and neighbors and will be missed dearly. She was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Mack Webb and Ray Stephens.
Survivors include sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma Webb, Clarkesville, Helen W. Stephens, Maysville, Betty and Gene Bustard, Greenville, S.C., and Jackie and John Billue, Cornelia; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the owner and operator of The Boutique Clothing Store, and had been active with the North East Georgia Council of Girl Scouts and the Barrow County Chamber of Commerce.
