Nolie LuRuth Ayers Bellamy, 85, of New Bethel Community, died Monday, November 17, 2008, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens.
Born on May 14, 1923, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late John Franklin and Myrt Wood Ayers. She was a retired teacher and taught many years at Eastanollee Elementary School. She was a lifelong active member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Mrs. Bellamy was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Newton Bellamy Jr.; siblings, Octie Ayers, Corene McFarlin, Alene Wilkinson, Sue Ayers, Janelle Andrews, Darvin Ayers and John F. Ayers Jr.; and a great-grandchild, Alison Bertrang.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph N. Bellamy Sr., daughter and son-in-law, Jan, who is a principal and long-time educator in Banks County School System and is presently principal at Banks County Elementary School in Homer, and John, who teaches in Banks County, Bertrang, Carnesville; grandchildren, Shawn Bertrang, Amy Crump, Charli Bellamy, Anna Wilkinson and R.N. Bellamy; great-grandson, Drew Bertrang; and sister, Dorothy Bellamy, Carnesville.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 19, at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ryan Seawright, Bill Ratliff and Donald Phillips officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Elrod was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan L. Elrod; son, Robert Andrew Dill; and brothers, Otis Umbehant, Elmo Umbehant, Arthur Umbehant and Everett Umbehant.
Survivors include a son, John Dill, Belton, S.C.; brothers, Gene Umbehant, Mt. Airy, Glenn Umbehant, Demorest; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Molly Wood Brown, Commerce; sons, Abe Brown, Commerce, and Brad Brown, Lula; daughter, Bonnie Harris, Watkinsville; brother, Paul Brown, Athens; sister, Jean Hunt, New Bern, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
