Mary Sue Vaughn, 95, of Commerce, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at BJC Nursing Home in Commerce.
Born in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late James Dilmus and Myra Blanche Whitworth Langston. She was a member of Hudson River Baptist Church and was retired from Commerce Sportswear.
Survivors include a number of cousins.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 28, at Hudson River Baptist Church with the Rev. Troy Herbert officiating.

Beatrice Cruce Langford, 94, of Hoschton, died Monday, November 24, 2008.
A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, she was a member of the Hoschton First Baptist Church and was a retired seamstress. Mrs. Langford was preceded in death by her husband, T.C. Langford Jr.; sisters, Grace Patrick and Bertha Bryant; and brothers, Hoyt Cruce and Clarence Cruce.

Leonard Lee Purdy Sr., 85, of Commerce, Banks County, died Monday, November 24, 2008, at the VA Hospital in Decatur.
Born on September 15, 1923, in Habersham County, he was the son of the late Roy Atlas and Lillie Shirley Purdy. He was an independent truck driver and was Baptist. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army in the European Theatre during World War II, and was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. Mr. Purdy was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Clara Parker Purdy; sons, Richard T. Purdy, Douglas D. Purdy and Larry W. Purdy; and a brother, Garnett Purdy.
Survivors include sons, Leonard L. Purdy Jr., Commerce, Johnny D. Purdy, Statham; sisters, Jeanette Flournoy, Helen Vinson, Imogene Trotter, all of Cornelia, Dorothy Mae Kimbrell, Mt. Airy; brother, Leroy Purdy, Beaumont, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Samuel Lee Williams, 30, of Jefferson, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008.
Born in Fulton County, he was the son of Eddie Williams Sr. of Jefferson and Vickie Henderson of Toccoa. He worked as a plumber most of his life. He was a passionate and brave person; losing his life in the process of saving four others, loved ones stated.
Survivors include his wife, Tiffany Williams, Winder; a son, Kaden Williams, Winder; grandfather, Harold Henderson, Hollywood; brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Tina Williams, Dacula; sister and brother-in-law, Tonya and Casey Cason, Jefferson; and many nieces and nephews.

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of the Rev. Mr. Dale Frank Lister, age 65, of Jefferson, who passed away on Friday, November 21, 2008.
He was born on May 20, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio, a son to Mrs. Rose Hundsrucker Lister of Toledo, Ohio, and the late Albert Lister. Dale attended the University of Toledo in Ohio, Buffalo State in N.Y and Furman University in South Carolina. He also completed specialized courses at American Institute of Baking, Manhattan, Kansas.
He was involved in the design of high speed bakeries and sales of bakery
equipment for 33 years. His most current position was Regional Sales Manager
at Gemini Bakery Equipment Company, headquartered in Philadelphia, Pa. In
February of 2007, Dale was ordained a permanent Deacon for the Archdiocese
of Atlanta, ministering to the St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church
Commerce, GA. He was selected as an honorary co-chairman of the 2008 Relay
for Life Team.
Survivors, including his mother, are his wife of 42 years, Pamela Lister,
Jefferson, GA; sons, Gregory Scott Lister, Commerce, GA, Mark Richard and
