Dean Nix Fordham, 78, of Athens, died Friday, June 13, 2008.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie W. and Lillie Barrett Nix. She was a retired dental hygienist and a member of the Church of the Nations in Athens.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Joe Fordham, Athens; daughter, Linda Davis, Hartwell; sisters, Mayrelle Duke, Dorothy Doster, Annie Phillips, all of Jefferson, Pansy Ward, Covington; brothers, Billy Nix, Commerce, Donald Nix, Snellville; grandchildren, Tamara Waddell, Jefferson, Dean Free, Clarkesville; and four great-grandchildren.

Dr. William Hains Fletcher, 85, of Nicholson, died Friday, June 13, 2008, at his residence of natural causes.
Following graduation from the University of Georgia veterinary school, he practiced veterinary medicine for over 50 years. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force during World War II as a bomber pilot and was a prisoner of war for 15 months.
Survivors include his children, Carol Abersoll, William Fletcher, Connie Over, and Dorothy Edwards; grandchildren, Donna Ledford, Jennifer Davis and Benjamin Edwards; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Saturday, June 14 at Emmanuel Church in Athens.

She was born November 5, 1920, in Laurens, S.C., the daughter of the late Earl Luther and Ola Sue Owings Love. She was a retired insurance clerk and a member of Oconee Baptist Church. Mrs. Waters was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Love Jones.

Myra Elizabeth McFarlin, 85, of Toccoa, died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at the Stephens County Hospital in Toccoa.
She was born on December 5, 1922, in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Henry Grady and Beulah Caudell McFarlin. She was a retired teacher, having taught in the Franklin, Jackson and Stephens County school systems and was a member of the Union Ground Christian Church. Mrs. McFarlin was preceded in death by a brother, Woodson L. McFarlin Sr.
Survivors include a sister, Agatha Payne, Homer; two nephews; and a niece.

She was a former member of New Hope Baptist Church in the Lakewood Community in Atlanta, and was currently a member of Hazel Creek Baptist. Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Gordon; a sister, Dede Hanley; and brothers, James, Johnny and Frank Willis Rice.

Stacey Elaine Brown, 41, of Gainesville, died peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at her residence.
She was born on August 27, 1966, in Hall County, the daughter of Bobby and Janice Brown of Gainesville. She was diagnosed early in her childhood with cerebral palsy and was not given much hope of living past her teenage years. She was unable to speak or walk throughout her entire life, but quickly learned to communicate with a loving and angelic smile. She never met a stranger and loved unconditionally, loved ones stated. Stacey was preceded in death by per paternal grandparents, Robert and Gaynelle Brown.
Survivors in addition to her parents, include a brother, Keith Brown, Gainesville; maternal grandparents, Allen and Evelyn Roper, Gainesville; special aunt, Judy Lee, Gainesville; and a multitude of loving family members and friends.
