Sara Isabel “Issie” Corley Oxford, 92, of Elberton, died Thursday, May 22, 2008.
She was born in DeKalb County, the daughter of the late James Malcolm and Martha Elizabeth Weed Corley. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Lithonia and was a homemaker. Mrs. Oxford was preceded in death by her husband, Lenwood V. Oxford.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty J. Reagin, Carlton; son, Terry L. Oxford, Crystal Lake, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 24, at The Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. David Burt officiating. Burial was in Carlton City Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers and Marshall King was an honorary pallbearer.

Martha Sue Randall Carey, 78, of Royston, died Sunday, May 25, 2008, at her residence.
She was born on December 9, 1929, the daughter of the late Dewey Drew and Gertrude Haley Randall. She was a seamstress and member of the Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. Carey was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Daron Carey; a grandson, Jess Carey; and step-grandson, Nick Carey.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Gwen Carey Perkins, Royston, Wanda and Jackson Hart, Danielsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Nelson and Kim Carey and Stanley and Patricia Carey, all of Carnesville, Byron Carey, Royston; sisters, Revonda Strickland and Jean Peeples, both of Royston, Kay Adams and Joan Randall, both of Hartwell; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 27, at Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Revs. Bert Synan and Tony Moon officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

James L. Brooks, 72, of Hull, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008.
A native of Elbert County, he was the son of the late Odell and Lillie Mae Saxon Brooks. He was a plumber pipe fitter and was a member of Union Baptist Church. Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda K. Brooks.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Jean Autry Brooks; sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky James and Sandra Brooks, Stephen C. and Christine Brooks; step-mother, Katheryn Brooks; step-sister, Susie Fouts; two grandchildren, Preston Lee Brooks and Daniel Mathew Brooks.

He was born on March 19, 1923, the son of the late Shelby Parham and Allie Mae Wood, and was a member of Meadow Baptist Church. Mr. Parham was preceded in death by a stepson, John David Booth.

Agnes Davison Ray, 82, of Royston, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at her residence.
She was born in Franklin County on August 2, 1925, the daughter of the late Frank Harbin Sr. and Tee Jacks Harbin. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Elberton and served on the outreach committee, the Women of Evangelism Church Committee and as chairman of the Communion Committee. She was also a member of the Elberton Civic League, the Elberton Historic Society, Elberton Baptist Church S.A.M.S. Club, the Friendship Club of the Elberton First United Methodist Church, and the Elberton Elk’s Club. While living in Royston, she was a former Girl Scout Leader, former Boy Scout Den Mother, and was a member of the Royston Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, leader of the G.A.’s, and director of Vacation Bible School. In 1966, she was awarded Homemaker of the Year in Franklin County. Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by husbands, John Rolland Davison, and Henry Doyle Ray; a grandson, Brad Chapman; and sister, Mary Fain.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Rodger and Shelby Davison and Mayes and Jean Davison, all of Royston; daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Buck Chapman, Hartwell; grandchildren and spouses, Lisa and Matt Brearton, Tyler Davison, Hanna Davison, Keyes Davison; great-grandchildren, Eli Brearton and Lila Kay Brearton; step-daughters and spouses, Diane and Mike Dougherty, Stone Mountain, Lori and Jim Timms, Waco, and Barbara Findley, Kennesaw; step-children, Kelly and Kimberly Dougherty, Danny Watkins, Makaylah and Heath Timms; brothers, Frank Harbin Jr. and Sam Harbin, both of Lavonia; and a sister, Virginia Adams, Royston.

Wilma Hix Williamson, 93, of Commerce, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.
She was born in Madison County, the daughter of the late Luther and Pearl Bolton Hix. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Ms. Williamson was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Williamson.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Eleanor Williamson, Commerce; daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Ronnie Ray, Commerce; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Julie and David Trejo, Rome, Mollie and Mark Brower, Kailua, Hawaii, and Lauren and Jonathan Milford, Commerce; great-grandchildren, Addie Grace and Darrell Trejo, both of Rome.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 15, at 11 a.m., at Berea Baptist Church with the Revs. Terry James, Verlin Reece and Grady Jordan officiating.
