Arnold Ralph Bennett, 79, of Cleveland, died Monday, July 7, 2008, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, following a brief illness.
He was born on April 15, 1929, in Jasper, Ala., the son of Willis and Emily Snow Bennett. He was the former owner of Bennett Iron Works and had lived in Forsyth County for many years before moving to White County. He attended Cleveland Worship Center and was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene Bennett, Cleveland; mother, Emily Bennett, Jasper, Ala.; sons and daughter-in-law, Bruce Bennett, Commerce, Bobby Bennett, Danny and Jackie Bennett, all of Gainesville; daughters and son-in-law, Sherri Bennett, Seville, Fla., Sandra and Jim Wills, Franklin, Tenn.; four step-children; four brothers and sisters; four grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 9, at the funeral home with the Rev. R.L. Puckett officiating.
Alexander’s Gateway Chapel Funeral Home, Cleveland, was in charge of arrangements.
