‘Runt’ Thomas

Alta Lee “Runt” Thomas, 85, of Cumming, died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at her residence following an extended illness.

She was an active member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church for many years, having served in the nursery during Vacation Bible School, before moving her membership to Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Roscoe Thomas, Cumming; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Leroy Hubbard, and Joy and John Dooley, all of Cumming; grandchildren, Tim and Melissa Hubbard, Russ and Kristie Hubbard, Caren Dooley, all of Cumming, Jennifer and Chris D’Agnese, Winder; five great-grandchildren; sister, Bennie Nell Strickland, Augusta; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 9, at 3 p.m., at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Tim Hubbard, Danny Bennett, Melvin Richards and Rex Byrd officiating. Burial will be in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 8, from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 8165 Bethel Rd., Gainesville, Ga. 30534.

Ingram Funeral Home, Cumming, is in charge of arrangements.
