ILA – Nellie Adams, 93, died Sunday, September 13, 2009.
A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late John and Ida Collins Pace. She was a longtime resident of this area and was a member of First Baptist Church of Athens. Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan Adams; and a son, Carlton Adams.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Bill Fleeman, Ila; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and June Pace, Macon; sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Johnnie Huey, Bowdon; grandchildren, David and Vicky Adams, Rachel Fleeman, John Adams, Adam and Dani Fleeman; great-grandchildren, Morgan Adams, Matt Adams, and Tyler Adams.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 16, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home with Jon Appleton officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Fred Adams, Gene Adams, Morgan Wheeler, Bill Braselton, Clay Pace, Chuck Huey, Ed Jaindl and John Braselton. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 15, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Celebrating Grace Hymnal Fund, First Baptist Church of Athens, 355 Pulaski St., Athens, GA 30601.
