ALTO – Zinebell Ausburn Wade, 86, died Monday, September 14, 2009, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
Born on May 8, 1923, in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late Grant and Daisy Mae Pressley Ausburn. She was the last member of her immediate family, was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and friend, and provided a loving home to many foster children. She loved to bake cakes.
Mrs. Wade was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Pritchett; sisters, Monteen Poole, Dora Lawrence, and Marie Mealor; and brothers, Hubert Ausburn and Plumer Ausburn.
Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Odell William Wade, Alto; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Doug Ayers, Annette and Tommy Free, and Jeanette and Johnny Wade, all of Alto; a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Darlene Wade, Alto; grandchildren, Bradley Ayers, Donna Clark, Tonya Chitwood, Jeff Pritchett, Christopher Pritchett, Pepper Adams, Heath Free, Shannon Free, Jennifer Brock, and Roxann Bennett; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 16, at 2 p.m., from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Revs. Roy Lee Mitchell and Kenneth McEntire officiating. Burial will be in the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, September 15, from 2 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, September 16, from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour.
