GILLSVILLE - Julia Anne Gilmore Minish, 85, of the Holly Springs Community, died Wednesday, September 9, 2009.
Born on November 19, 1923, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Spear and Lula Lipscomb Gilmore. She was a homemaker and a member of the Holly Springs United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Maysville High School, attended North Georgia College, and was a former community correspondent for The Jackson Herald. Mrs. Minish was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ford Minish.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 11, at 2 p.m., in the Holly Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Matthew McCoy officiating. The body will lie in state Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Donny Minish, Randy Ragan, John Lipscomb, Jonathan Lipscomb, Calvin Hayes and Billy Minish serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, September 10.
