JEFFERSON – Katie Lee Smith Watson, 86, formerly of Buford, died Tuesday, September 8, 2009.
Born on August 26, 1923, in Forsyth County, she was the daughter of the late Handsel and Carra Smith. She was a 1941 graduate of Sugar Hill High School and was retired from Bona Allen Company in Buford. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Sugar Hill. Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by a brother, Everett Smith; stepson, Tommy Watson; son-in-law, Mickey Thompson; and great-granddaughter, Katie Mosley.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Cline Watson, Jefferson; a daughter, Diane Thompson, Pendergrass; son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Myrtle Johnson, Hoschton; stepchildren, Johnny and Michelle Watson and Debra Watson, all of Hoschton; grandchildren, Nancy and Tracy Beckett, Michael and Rhonda Thompson, Tami and Chris House, Gina Johnson, Jill and Alain Zemmour, and Ashley Watson; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 11, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with the Revs. Charles Pirkle and Henry Webb officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 10, from 12 noon to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
