Susan Denton

HOMER – Susan Meeler Denton, 50, died Sunday, September 6, 2009, at her residence.

Born on October 2, 1958, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Ruby Ward Meeler of Baldwin and the late Loyd E. Meeler. She was an honor graduate of the Banks County High School and was a member of Nails Creek Baptist Church. She was formerly employed with Orbit Manufacturing and Jean’s Bridal and Tux, as well as a caregiver to the elderly.

Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband, Jerry M. Denton, Homer; daughters, Ashley Suzanne Denton and Jeri Alexis Denton, both of Homer; a sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Dwight Wheelis, Cleveland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ricky and Joan Meeler, Baldwin, and Scott and Jennifer Meeler, Commerce; three nieces; and three nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 8, at 4:30 p.m., from the Whitfield Funeral Home with the Revs. Tim House, Kenneth McEntire and Roy Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the South Chapel Tuesday, September 8, at 3 p.m. until the funeral hour.
