HOSCHTON – Rev. Howard Banks, 82, died Friday, September 4, 2009.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Clinton Columbus and Magdalene Marsingill Banks. He served as Pastor of the Center United Methodist Church in Hoschton, the Lebanon United Methodist Church in Jefferson, and the Duncan Chapel United Methodist Church in Hall County. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army. Mr. Banks was preceded in death by a sister, Willene Williams; niece, Sheila Williams; and a nephew, Danny Vaughn Jr.
Survivors include brothers and sister-in-law, Horace and Helen Banks, Buford, and Joel Banks, Hoschton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 7, at the Center United Methodist Church with the Rev. Blaine Spence officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Center United Methodist Church or St. Mary’s Hospice.
Carter Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
