Ethel Taylor Gooch, 91, of Gainesville, died Saturday, July 5, 2008, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Rev. Charles Taylor and Canzada Roberts Taylor. She worked at Gayborn Mills for many years, as well as at Northeast Georgia Hospital, Roses 5 & 10 Store, and Gilford Mills. Mrs. Gooch was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Maynard Gooch; brothers, the Rev. Bunyan Taylor and Otis Garr; and sisters, Desma Gooch, Bertie Bryant and Darrell Lewallen. She was a member of the Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Sara Gooch, Bobbie and A.W. Stover, all of Gainesville, Joan and Richard Braham, Irmo, S.C.; two granddaughters; four grandsons; one great-granddaughter; one great-grandson; brothers, W.W. Gary, Jr., Commerce, Robert Gary, Atlanta; sisters, Lillie Bruce, Homer, Mary Tuggle and Martha Caudell, both of Commerce; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 8, at Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church with the Revs. Fulton Boswell, James E. Adams Jr., and Johnny P. Parker officiating. Burial was in White Plains Baptist Church cemetery.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, was in charge of arrangements.
