ALTO – Eugene Thomas Erwin Brown, 76, died Thursday, August 27, 2009, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
Born in Habersham County, he was the son of the late Fred Joshua and Olivia Rebecca Sears Brown. He was a United States Army veteran, having served in Korea.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Margaret Latty Brown; sons, Thomas Eugene Brown and Arthur Howard Brown, both of Commerce, and Alex Marvin Brown, Clarkesville; daughter, Juanita Brown Quiroz, Alto; adopted children, Melody Denise Holcomb and John Howard Brown; sisters, Patsy Gowder, Gainesville, and Commie Love, Forest Park; 30 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 30, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Revs. Donald Wilson and Jim Yeoman officiating. Burial will be in the Center Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, August 29, from 7 to 9 p.m., and at other times at the residence.
