NICHOLSON – Dorothy Cordelia Stephens, 82, died Sunday, August 23, 2009, at her residence.
Born in Fulton County, she was the daughter of the late T.O. and Margia Thurman Edwards. She was a member of Harmony Christian Church and was employed by Tasty Cream in Commerce. Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Steve Stephens; sons, Ronald Manus and Dean Stephens; sisters, Rosa Lee Webb and Flonnie Edwards; and brothers, Alton OKelley and Dewey Edwards.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Theresia and Randy Newman, Brooklet, Martha Baker, Maysville; sons and daughter-in-law, Jeff Manus and Lamar and Janice Manus, all of Nicholson; brother, Leroy Edwards, Athens; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and William Gordon, Maysville; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 25, at 4 p.m., from Jackson Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bill Manus officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, August 24, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
