JEFFERSON – Geneva Claudine Cooper, 82, died Saturday, August 22, 2009, at her residence.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late George Newton and Leila Belle Parker. She was a member of Apple Valley Baptist Church and was employed as a dietician with Athens Technical College. Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her husband, John Hoyt Cooper.
Survivors include a son, Randolph Cooper, Powder Springs; daughters, Sherry Diane Cox, Aiken, S.C., Linda Miller, Commerce, and Elizabeth Gale Waldrop, Jefferson; sisters, Mary Davis, Monroe, and Ann Ward, Goose Creek, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 24, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Mr. Tom Plank officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, August 23, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
