BRASELTON – Mary Alice Simmons Couch, 65, formerly of Commerce, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at the residence of her sister in Braselton.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late William P. Simmons and Hettie Beck Church. She worked for several years as manager of local convenience stores.
Survivors include her husband, James R. Couch, Athens; sons and daughters-in-law, William R. and Kelly Couch, Dahlonega, their children, Erika, Heather and Will Couch and Morgan Tritt, James “Danny” and Tina Couch, Athens; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Ray Smith, Commerce, and their children, Megan Smith, Hannah Smith and Chad Hanson and Brandy with their children, Bree and Gage Hanson, Sandra and Thomas Denton, Homer, with their daughter, Ashley Denton, Susan and Damaso Palencia, Marietta with their children, Damaso Palencia Jr., Andre Palencia and Brandy (Jody) Rogers and their children Karlie Norris and Thomas Tessier; stepdaughter, Maria Couch, Athens; siblings, Lucille Wilford, Lawrenceville, Lorene Baird, Braselton, and Jeanette Dalton, Jefferson.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 13, at 4 p.m., in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Robbie Black officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
