Martha McEver

TALMO – Martha Lyle McEver, 80, died Thursday, August 6, 2009.

Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Belle Hooper Lyle. She was a homemaker and a member of Talmo Baptist church. Mrs. McEver was preceded in death by a son, Chris McEver; and sister, Mary Lyle Whitfield

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Lloyd McEver, Talmo; a son, Mike McEver, Jefferson; daughter-in-law, Julie Drawdy McEver, Jefferson; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Jimmy Sailors, Jefferson; brother-in-law, Eugene Whitfield, Jefferson; grandchildren, Heather McEver Crowe, Lavonia, Heather and Casey Berryman, Jefferson, Stephen and Estelita Green, Vicenza, Italy; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 8, at 11 a.m., from Talmo Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Spence officiating. Mrs. McEver will lie in state from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Casey Berryman, Chip McEver, Jonathan McEver, Mac McEver, David Sailors and Jeff Whitfield. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, August 7, from 6 to 8 p.m.
