JONESBORO – Ora Mae Snipes, 74, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at the Healthfield Hospice in Riverdale.
Born on April 9, 1935, in Danielsville, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ora Hill Sartain.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Snipes; sisters, Ima Jo Phillips, Adelaine Cohran; step-children, Cynthia and Steve Wilson, Sylvia Snipes, Freda Bartlett, Eddie and Angie Snipes and Shirley and Tom Smith; 18 step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 8, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home with the Revs. Jesse Hobgood and L.R. Dunigan officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in Hillandale Memorial Gardens in Lithonia. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, August 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Haisten McCullough Funeral Home, 1155 Everee Inn Rd., Griffin, is in charge of arrangements.
