FLOWERY BRANCH – Grace Evelyn Jones, 79, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at her granddaughter’s residence following a brief illness.
Born on February 7, 1930, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Jones and Mattie Pruitt Jones Blackwell. She was a homemaker and of the Holiness denomination. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Eugene Blackwell Sr.; grandson, Bobby Eugene Blackwell Jr.; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Blackwell; and stepfather, J.R. Blackwell.
Survivors include granddaughter and husband, Loretta and Dwight Smith, Cleveland; grandson and wife, Johnny and Jamie Blackwell, Flowery Branch; granddaughter-in-law, Lorie Blackwell, Oakwood; granddaughter, Jemmie Edwards; great-granddaughter and husband, Maranda and Jason Hatcher; great-grandsons, Keith Wilson Jr., Jonathan Blackwell, and Zack Blackwell; great-granddaughter, Mikayla Blackwell; great-great-granddaughters, Morgan Hatcher, Madysen Hatcher, Makenna Hatcher, and Jennifer “Diddle” Blackwell; great-great-grandson, Kaden Wilson; special friends, Billy Lee and Maggie and Donald Helton.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 7, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Ryder officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 5, and Thursday, August 6, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
