MURRAYVILLE – Roger Scott Ewing, 41, died Monday, July 27, 2009, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, following a sudden illness.
Born on October 28, 1967, in Hall County, he was the son of the late Bill Ewing and Glenda Perry Ewing Owens. He was employed at Applied Industry in sales and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army in Egypt and Jordan. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, son and friend, loved ones stated. He was a man who served his country with a great deal of passion and honor and is loved very much and will be missed dearly.
Survivors include his wife, Renea Ewing, Gainesville; daughters, Taylor and Morgan Ewing, both of Gainesville; father and mother-in-law, Johnny and Jackie Pirkle, Flowery Branch; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jeanine and Chris Whitmire, Braselton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jason and Misty Pirkle, Braselton; aunts and uncles, Robert and Diane Eller, Gainesville, and Annie Sue and Harold Nix, Eastman; uncle, Danny Perry, Gainesville; nieces, Madison Whitmire and Madelynn Pirkle; nephews, Walker Whitmire, Matthew Pirkle, Tristan William and Logan Pirkle; grandparents, Gene and Christine Pirkle, Oakwood; grandmother, Geneva Parker, Oakwood; stepfather, Ed Owens, Gainesville; special friends, Tim McMaster, Buford, and John Thompson, Alto; the crew, Rex McClinton, Howard Lee Davis Jr. and Jonathan Yarbrough.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 30, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Revs. Danny Jones and Joel Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 29, from 5 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
