COMMERCE – Wilson Nix, 89, died Friday, July 24, 2009, at BJC Medical Center in Commerce.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late William Thomas and Alma Montgomery Nix. He was retired from Roper Pump and was a member of Hudson Lodge #294 F&AM and the Bethany United Methodist Church. Mr. Nix was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Kesler Nix.
Survivors include a son, Tommy Nix, Nicholson; daughters, Brenda Woodall, Toccoa, and Rita Wilson, Commerce; daughter-in-law, Pat Nix, Maysville; sisters, Lydia Allen, Gainesville, and Leita Nix, Commerce; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 26, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Revs. Johnny Ray and Bobby Ivester officiating. Burial was at Jackson Memorial Gardens.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
