GAINESVILLE – Anthony Lamar “Tony” Poole, 58, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born on November 23, 1950, in Hall County, he was the son of Geraldine Harris Poole of Lula and the late Wallace J. Poole. He worked as a construction contractor during his lifetime, was a veteran, having served in the United States Army, and was a member of TimberRidge Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to his mother include a son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Beth Poole, their daughter, Isabelle “Izze” Poole; son, Mark Poole, Gainesville; daughter, Heather Poole, Gainesville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marty and Lynn Poole and the Rev. Scotty Poole and Redenna Poole, all of Lula; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue Ladd and the Rev. Maxey Ladd, Gainesville, and Rhonda Ryals and the Rev. Dwayne Ryals, Lula; and a sister, Darlene Nix, Lula.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 24, at 2 p.m. at TimberRidge Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The Revs. Verner London, Ruel Martin and Dwayne Ryals will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 23, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, is in charge of arrangements.
