‘Rich’ Phillips

GAINESVILLE – Ethelene “Rich” Phillips, 92, died Monday, July 20, 2009, at New Horizon Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Born on March 16, 1917, in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late Arnie and Nellie Sheridan Rich. She was a retired seamstress and was of the Baptist denomination. Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband, Fletcher P. Phillips.

Survivors include a daughter, Marie Phillips Rogers, Gainesville; brother, Clyde Rich, Gainesville; granddaughters and spouses, Lynn Rogers, Jane and Brian Bowmar, all of Gainesville, and Susan and Chuck Titshaw, Hoschton; great-grandsons, Kristopher Bowmar and Matthew Bowmar, both of Gainesville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 23, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Revs. James Woods and Wayne Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, July 22, from 6 to 8 p.m.
