ROYSTON – Ora Estelle Parten, 94, died Thursday, July 2, 2009, at her residence.
Born in Franklin County on August 31, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Obediah and Nellie Carey Parten. She was retired from Chicopee in Royston and was of the Methodist denomination. Miss Parten was preceded in death by brothers, Archie, Jim, Harold, and John Parten; and sisters, Mertha Parten, Emma Lou Fortson and Mattie Lee Smith.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and several great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 4, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Carmichael officiating. Burial was in the Pennington Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
