Richard Hill

MAYSVILLE – Richard Stanley Hill, 59, died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Ben C. and Ruby McGinnis Hill. He was retired from Westinghouse and was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church. Mr. Hill was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas, Clark and David Hill; and sisters, Wilda Cochran and Barbara Paul.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Hill, Maysville; daughters, Tina Hayes, Commerce, Buffy Jordan, Maysville, and Keri Knight, Homer; a son, Vernon Potts, Atlanta; brothers, Lamie Hill, Riverdale, Warren Hill, Maysville, and Benny Hill, Commerce; sisters, Merle Gordon, Jonesboro, and Mary Etta Johnson, Commerce; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 1, at Ridgeway Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Manus and Ken Brewer officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
