WINDER - Lester L. ‘Mutt’ McDaniel, 92, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009.
Born in Barrow County, he was the son of the late Garfield and Martha V. McDaniel. A member of Carter Hill Christian Church, he was a World War II Army Veteran and fought in the battle of The Bulge. He was owner of L. L. McDaniel Construction Company. Mr. McDaniel was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Royster McDaniel.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-laws, Charles and Kelly McDaniel, Duluth, Jerry and Mary Jane McDaniel, Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Mark McDaniel, Debbie and Scott St. John, Jerry McDaniel Jr. and Donna McDaniel, Michelle McDaniel and Tracy Martin; great-grandchildren , James, Brandon and Jacob McDaniel, Dakota and Nicki St. John, Chris Ellis, Megan Smith, and Heather Smith; great-great-grandsons, Nicholas and Brian Hulsey; brother, Bobby McDaniel, Winder; and sisters Demp Royster and Pearl McDaniel, both of Winder.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27, at 2 p.m., from Smith Memory Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Whatley officiating. Burial will be in Carter Hill Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, June 26, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
