COLBERT – Clifford L. Morris, 79, died Thursday, June 11, 2009.
A native of Madison County, he was the son of the late James Redden and Annie Eva Sharp Morris. He was retired from the United States Postal Service and was retired from the United States Air Force, where he served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Morris was preceded in death by sisters, Marie Morris and Lucille Morris; sister and brother-in-law, Katie and Bill Toney; brothers, C.B. Morris and Johnny Morris; sister-in-law, Agnes Morris; and brother-in-law, Jowett Logan.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Rebecca Gilchrist Morris; sons and daughter-in-law, Mike and Debbie Morris, Commerce and Randy Morris, Braselton; grandchildren, Catherine, Allison, Ben, Matt, John and Drew; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Logan, Irene and Ted Osborne, all of Colbert; brother Joe Morris and sister-in-law, Oline Morris, both of Colbert; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June, 14, at Colbert United Methodist Church with the Revs. James R. Haralson and Calvin Coile officiating. Entombment was in Colbert Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Colbert UMC Family Life Center.
Lord and Stephens, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.
