LULA – Junior Dyer, 57, died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Grady Memorial Hospital, following injuries received in a logging accident.
Born in Jackson County on June 13, 1952, he was the son of the late Hubert and Thelma Armour Dyer. He was self-employed in the logging industry and was of the Holiness faith. Mr. Dyer was preceded in death by a brother, Tony Lamar Dyer. He enjoyed riding his Harley and was a loving husband, father and papa, loved ones stated.
Survivors include his wife, Paula Dyer, Lula; daughter and son-in-law, Sonya and Kelvin Sloan, Rabbittown; son, Brett Dyer, Lula; grandsons, Brandon Kody Sloan and Thomas Boone Sloan; special friends, Harold and Cindy Dockery and Kevin Magness, all of Lula; brother-in-law, John Barrett, Lula; brother and sister-in-law, Dillard and Doris Dyer, Lula; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Walter Hall, Royston; sister-in-law, Amanda Dyer, Maysville; and a host of other close friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 17, at 2 p.m., at the Lula Assembly of Praise with the Revs. Lanier Tatum, Woodie Hicks and Tim Beasley officiating. Burial will be in the Living Mission United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, June 15, and Tuesday, June 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
