Clyde Lonnie Gentry, 91, of Comer, died Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at his residence.
Born in Elbert County, he was the son of the late Henry Grady and Marcie Foster Gentry and the step-son of the late Beulah Hendrix Gentry. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, was a farmer and electrician with IBEW Local Union 613. Mr. Gentry was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Parham Gentry; brothers, Roy and Bill Gentry; and a grandson, Keith Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Dean Gentry; a son, Malcom Gentry, Comer; daughter, Betty Jean Pitts, Hartwell; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 26, at 11 a.m., at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home with the Revs. Mike Sarna and Glenn Guest officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
