COMMERCE - Travis “Sarge” Gilbert Brown, 57, died Saturday, June 13, 2009.
He was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, and was a 40-year employee of Roper Pump Company. He was a member of Hudson Lodge 294 F&AM, where he served for many years as secretary, and was retired from the Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Cromer Brown, Commerce; son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Shannon Brown, Commerce; daughter and son-in-law, Breesa and Tim Crocker, Commerce; grandchildren, Justin Scott Crocker, W.B. Skyler Brown, Leia Marie Brown and Carley Victoria Crocker.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 15, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Revs. Derry Oliver, Verlin Reece and Wayne Robertson officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Park.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
