ROYSTON – Arleen J. Westmorland, 77, died Monday, June 8, 2009, at the Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston.
Born in Sesser, Ill., on May 6, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Overton and Lola Mae Swisher Johnson. She was a convenience store cashier and a member of the Price Chapel of God. Mrs. Westmorland was preceded in death by her husband, Roy J. Westmorland; and a son, Ronald Eckels.
Survivors include a son, Martin D. Eckels Sr., Lavonia; daughters, Joleen Browning, LaBelle, Fla., Debra Lynne Maxwell and Marcia E. Moss, both of Royston; brother, Howell Johnson, Springville, Tenn.; sister, Violiline Featherston, LaBelle, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 11, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Stowe officiating.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
